purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £21,250, authorised to be raised by the Taihape Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, apportioned as follows—for constructing waterworks, £11,000; installing electric light, £7,500; constructing septic tanks, £1,250; constructing public baths, £1,000; erecting fire-brigade station, £500—the said Taihape Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Taihape Water-supply and Electric-lighting Special-rating District, comprising all sections in Blocks I to XII, inclusive; Sections 1 to 7 and 12 to 14, inclusive, Block XIII; all sections in Blocks XIV to XVIII, inclusive; and all sections in Block XXI, all in Taihape Township: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-three years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I, Anthony Nathan, Mayor of Taihape, hereby certify that the above special order was made and passed at a special meeting of the Taihape Borough Council held for the purpose on the 5th day of May, 1909, and duly confirmed at a subsequent special meeting of the said Taihape Borough Council held for the purpose on the 3rd day of June, 1909.

Special Order making a Special Rate.—Taihape Drainage Loan No. 3.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Taihape Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,750, authorised to be raised by the Taihape Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for drainage, the said Taihape Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1⅛d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Taihape Drainage Special-rating District No. 3, comprising Sections 2 to 20, inclusive, Block I; Sections 6 to 13, inclusive, Block II; all sections in Blocks XI and XII; Sections 1 to 7 and 12 to 14, inclusive, Block XIII; all sections in Blocks XIV to XVIII, inclusive; and all sections in Block XXI, all in Taihape Township: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-three years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE following special order, made by the Castlepoint River Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE CASTLEPOINT RIVER BOARD.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and all amendments thereto, the Castlepoint River Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700, authorised to be raised by the Castlepoint River Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for preventing the overflow of the Whareama River, the said Castlepoint River Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅔d. in the pound on the unimproved rateable valuation of all rateable property comprised within the following boundaries—that is to say, commencing at the north-west corner of Section 828, Block III, Mangapakeha Survey District, and proceeding south bounded by Sections 827, 826, 397, to the south-west corner of Section 398; thence by a straight line running through Sections 179, 178, 177, Block III, 176, 400, 401, Block VII, to the point of intersection of the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section with the Whareama River; thence proceeding southwards by the said river, and by the Makirikiri Stream to the north-west corner of Section 190, Block VII; thence by Section 816 to the southernmost corner of said Section 190; thence proceeding in a south-westerly direction by a straight line parallel with the south boundary of said Section 816 to its western boundary; thence proceeding in a northerly direction by the last-mentioned section-boundary to the north boundary of Section 391, Block XI; thence by Section 390, Block VII, and again proceeding south by a straight line drawn from the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section through said Section 391 to the north-west corner of Section 404, Block XI; thence by the last-mentioned section to its south-eastern corner; thence proceeding south by a straight line to the north-east corner of Section 281, Block XI; thence proceeding easterly by a straight line to a point on the Whareama River opposite to the south boundary of Section 494, Block XII; thence proceeding northerly by the Whareama River and by Flag Creek to the crossing of the Tinui-Alfredton Road; thence still proceeding north by the said road to the south boundary of Section 124, Block XI; thence by the said boundary to the Whareama River; thence proceeding northerly by the said river, and by Sections 142 and 502, Block XII, by Sections 503, 139, Block VII, to the Whareama River; thence still proceeding northerly by the said river to Stillborn’s Bridge, on the said Tinui-Alfredton Road; thence still proceeding north by the said road to the Manawa Bridge at Grassendale; thence by the said Whareama River to the south boundary of Section 115, Block IV; thence by the said boundary to a point opposite to and in a line with the western boundary of Section 831 in the last-mentioned block; thence by a straight line to the said last-mentioned boundary; thence by Sections 831, 832, 834, 833, Block IV, and by Section 822, Block III, all in the Mangapakeha Survey District, to the point of commencement: and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off. Cost of raising the loan to be paid out of the loan.

I certify that the above special order was made at a special meeting of the Board on the 1st day of May, 1909, and was confirmed at a special meeting of the Board on the 5th day of June, 1909.
