WEDNESDAY, the 21st day of July next, will be observed as a public holiday in the Government offices throughout the Dominion for the celebration of Arbor Day.
In order that the movement may be made as successful as possible, the Government hopes that the Mayors of various municipalities and Chairmen of local bodies will place the matter prominently before the people of the Dominion, and do all they can to encourage the planting of public reserves and other available lands, both public and private, with trees suited to the locality.

THE following special order, made by the Moa Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1908.”

MOA ROAD BOARD.
Special Order in re £600 Loan for Egmont Road North.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Moa Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £600, authorised to be raised by the Moa Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming and metalling the Egmont Road North from the Junction Road northwards, the said Moa Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1¹⁄₄d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Egmont Road North Special-rating district, comprising Sections 46, 47 (in two subdivisions), part 50, 58, 59, part 60, Sub. 1, 2, 3, 4, part of part Sub. 5, of Section 61, Block X, Paritutu Survey District (Hua and Waiwaikaiho Hundred; 1–5, 11–15, 21–25, 31–35, 41–45, 51–55, 63–65, 73–75, 90, 91, 97, 98, 104, 105, 88, 89, 95, 96, 6–10, 16–20, 26–30, 36–40, 46–50, 56–60, 66–70, 76–80, 92, 93, 99, 100, 106, 107, 102, 103, of Section 61, Block III, Egmont Survey District (Hua and Waiwaikaiho Hundred), Egmont Village: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years at 5 per cent. per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off. All expenses in connection with raising this loan to be paid out of loan-money.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” at a special meeting of the Moa Road Board held on the 20th day of June, 1906, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Board held on the 21st day of July, 1906.
