Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the undermentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the grant of any such patent. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.

No. 23877.—3rd January, 1908.—JAMES AGUSTUS BOYD, of No. 6 Richmond Street, Petone, New Zealand, Painter. Improvements in appliances in and for parlour skittles and suchlike games.*

Claim.—Improvements in spring guns used in games, consisting of a retaining-spring for the purpose of keeping a ball in its place, substantially as and for the purpose described.

No. 23878.—3rd January, 1908.—JAMES AGUSTUS BOYD, of No. 6 Richmond Street, Petone, New Zealand, Painter. Improvements in combination step-ladders and suchlike ladders.*

Claims.—(1.) A back strut, being slightly curved, and having rungs, and pivoted to the ladder proper, and adapted to turn upon its pivots and rest against the front of the top step, which is thrown back on its hinges; and a button for securing the strut in its elevated position, substantially as and for the purposes set forth. (2.) The employment, in combination with a ladder as described in claim 1, of a button for securing the strut in its elevated position, substantially as set forth. (3.) The employment, in combination with a ladder as described in claim 1, of a thole secured to the ladder by a cord and secured to the strut, substantially as set forth. (4.) The employment, in combination with a ladder as described in claim 1, of a top step being divided with hinges, and a hook and eyelet for securing the same, as and for the purposes set forth. (5.) The combination and arrangements of parts comprising the improvements in step-ladders, substantially as and for the purposes set forth, and illustrated in the drawing.
