Sufferance Wharf and Examination-sheds appointed.
CUSTOMS.-In exercise of the powers in me for this
purpose vested by "The Customs Law Act, 1908," I,
the Minister of Customs, do hereby appoint that the Petone
Wharf shall be a sufferance wharf at the Port of Wellington
for the loading and unloading of free and duty-paid goods
and New Zealand produce; and that the undermentioned
buildings shall be places where goods may be deposited for
examination on the landing thereof, viz. :-
WHARF-SHEDS MARKED "1" AND "2,"
situate on the King's Wharf.

eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred
and nine.

Varied Notice fixing Closing-hours of Confectioners', Fruit-
erers', Refreshment-room and Dining-room Keepers' Shops
in the Borough of Taihape under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all the confectioners',
fruiterers', refreshment-room and dining-room keepers'
shops in the Borough of Taihape, has been forwarded to me,
desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed
in the evening of working-days as follows: Monday, Tues-
day, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10.30 o'clock p.m. ;
Saturday, 11 o'clock p.m.: And whereas the Taihape
Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such
requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the
confectioners', fruiterers', refreshment-room and dining-
room keepers' shops, combined and separately, in the
Borough of Taihape:
Now, therefore, I, Alexander Wilson Hogg, the Minister
of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of "The Shops and
Offices Act, 1908," do hereby direct that from and after the
10th day of May, 1909, all confectioners', fruiterers', refresh-
ment-room and dining-room keepers' shops, combined and
separately, in the Borough of Taihape shall be closed in
accordance with such requisition.
The notice gazetted the 14th February, 1907, fixing the
closing-hours of all shops, is hereby varied accordingly.

Notice by the Public Trustee under "The Public Trust Office
Act, 1908" (Part II, Unclaimed Lands).
To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing
1 rood, more or less, being Lot 72, D.P. Plan 352, part
of Rural Section 6243, Block XIV, in the District of Wai-
tangi, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, and being
all the land comprised and described in certificate of title,
Volume 68, folio 87, Christchurch Registry. The regis-
tered owner of the land is John Jay, described as of
Waimate, labourer, who cannot now be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted in-
quiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the
owner or owners of the above-described land is or are,
and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the
Dominion :
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, with-
in six months of the date of the publication of this notice
in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the
Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in
this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not,
within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the
Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities
granted to him in and by "The Public Trust Office Act,
1908."

Notice by the Public Trustee under "The Public Trust Office
Act, 1908" (Part II, Unclaimed Lands).
To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing
1 acre, more or less, being Lots 35 and 148, Deposited Plan
No. 96, part Sections 163 and 165, Township of Sandon, in
the Provincial District of Wellington, and being all the
land comprised and described in certificate of title, Vol. 26,
folio 256, Wellington Registry. The registered owner of
the land is James Thompson, the younger, described as of
Wellington, who cannot now be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted in-
quiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the
owner or owners of the above-described land is or are,
and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the
Dominion :
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, with-
in six months of the date of the publication of this notice
in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under
"The Public Trust Office Act, 1908" (Part II, Unclaimed
Lands).
WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee,
have for the purposes of "The Unclaimed Lands
Act, 1894," and the above Act, made due inquiries with
respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder
written, and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the
said land, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the
first-named Act, and have in all respects complied with the
provisions of the said Acts pertinent hereto : And whereas
I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe
that such owner is not in the Dominion, nor has such owner
established his title to the said land, as required by the said
Unclaimed Lands Act or the last-named Act : I hereby give
notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the
said Acts, or one of them, vested in the Public Trustee as
aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and
will be administered under "The Public Trust Office Act,
1908"; the value of the land for the purposes of section 67 (d)
of the said last-named Act being less than one hundred
pounds.
Dated at Wellington, this 29th day of April, 1909.
