Determining the Fees to be paid for an Inspection of Machinery or of a Boiler.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS it is enacted by section twenty-seven of “The Inspection of Machinery Act, 1908,” as amended by section twenty-three of “The Inspection of Machinery Amendment Act, 1908,” that the Governor may from time to time, by Warrant duly gazetted, determine the fees to be paid on making an inspection of machinery or of a boiler, not exceeding the fees prescribed by the aforesaid section twenty-three:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of “The Inspection of Machinery Act, 1908,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby determine that the fees to be paid on making an inspection of machinery or of a boiler shall be the same as those set forth in section twenty-three of “The Inspection of Machinery Amendment Act, 1908,” to wit, the following:—
INSPECTION FEES.
The amount specified in the first column is the amount of the fee; the amount specified in the second column is the sum which may be accepted in satisfaction of the fee, provided such sum is paid and the certificate in respect thereof is taken up within one month after the date of notice that such certificate is ready for issue.
In respect of steam-vessels under pressure—

Provided that where more than one boiler is connected with any machinery the maximum fees shall not exceed—
For each series of five connected boilers .. 5 0 0 4 0 0
In respect of machinery not having boilers connected therewith—
For every hydraulic or other lift 0 10 0 0 5 0
For every other machine or machinery worked otherwise than by hand—
If of 5-horse power or under 0 5 0 0 2 6
If over 5-horse power and not exceeding 10-horse power .. 0 10 0 0 7 6
If over 10-horse power and not exceeding 30-horse power .. 1 0 0 0 17 6
If over 30-horse power .. 2 0 0 1 10 0
Provided that no fee shall be payable on any Pelton or turbine wheel not exceeding 5-horse nominal power.

Duty to be levied on Compo-board.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS a certain article of merchandise known as “compo-board,” being timber with a backing of paper-pulp cemented to the timber, is imported into New Zealand, which article, in the opinion of the Minister of Customs, possesses such properties that it can be used for purposes similar to those for which dressed sawn timber is used, the said timber being liable to a duty of four shillings the hundred superficial feet under “The Customs Duties Act, 1908”:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authority conferred upon me by section sixty-six of “The Customs Law Act, 1908,” do hereby direct that there shall be levied on the article known as “compo-board” a duty of four shillings the hundred superficial feet.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Law Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint that, from and after the date hereof, the wharf known as
THE KING’S WHARF
shall be deemed and taken to be a legal landing-place at the Port of Wellington for the lading and unlading of goods under “The Customs Law Act, 1908.”
