Application under Section 39 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.

In the matter of an application under section 39 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” by Harena Porutu to amend the order of the Court of the 4th August, 1887, appointing successors to Wiremu Rangiawhio Porutu, deceased, in Native Reserve No. 5, Omata District (Ratapihipihi), and of a reference by the Chief Judge of the Native Land Court under section 49 of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895”; and in the matter of an Order in Council by His Excellency the Governor in Council, dated the 14th day of March, 1908, consenting to the Chief Judge making an order under section 39 aforesaid.

WHEREAS the above application has been referred to the Native Land Court for inquiry and report, and the same has been duly reported on: And whereas it appears that the order made appointing successors to Wiremu Rangiawhio Porutu, deceased, in Native Reserve No. 5, Omata District (Ratapihipihi), was made in error:

Now, therefore, for the purpose of rectifying the said error, and in exercise of the power in that behalf vested in me as Chief Judge of the said Court by section 39 aforesaid, I hereby order that the said order of the 4th day of August, 1887, appointing successors to the interest of Wiremu Rangiawhio Porutu, deceased, be amended in such manner as will hereby determine Henare Piti Porutu, 1/3; Ihaia Porutu Puketapu, 1/12; Hirini Puketapu, 1/12; Piripi Puketapu, 1/12; Raepakoko Puketapu, 1/12; and Harena Porutu (Mrs. Toms), 1/3, to be the successors.

As witness my hand, this 31st day of March, 1909.

Notice of Registration of Adoption under Section 50 of “The Native Land Claims Adjustment and Laws Amendment Act, 1901.”

NOTICE having been lodged with me by Mareikura Heremaia, of Tarereari, Taranaki, that she has taken Waewae Kipa, a child of Neha Kipa and Pare Kipa, to be her adopted child, and a certificate by a Judge of the Native Land Court, as required by Regulation No. 6, having been received, it is hereby notified that the said notice of adoption has been duly filed and registered.

NOTICE having been lodged with me by Wi Ruka te Tupe, of Waihi, Waitara, that he has taken Te Miri Arapata, the child of Arapata Tairi and Netaia, to be his adopted child, and a certificate by a Judge of the Native Land Court, as required by Regulation No. 6, having been received, it is hereby notified that the said notice of adoption has been duly filed and registered.
