APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-
RACE.

To the Warden of the Westland Mining District, at Hokiti-
tika.

PURSUANT to "The Mining Act, 1908," the undersigned,
the Mahinapua Gold-mining Company (Limited), a
mining company having its registered office at Wellington,
hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in
the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly
marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner's right : 26th February, 1909 ;
No. 72269.

Address for service: Office of James Park, Solicitor,
Hokitika.

Dated at Hokitika, this 26th day of February,
1909.

Schedule.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal
points: Commencing at a peg marked X in Granite Creek,
about 100 yards above the Ross-Koiterangi Creek, and ter-
minating at Ogilvie's Lagoon. Situate in the Hokitika
Harbour Board Endowment Reserve No. 146.

Length and intended course of race: Two miles and a
half; north-east.

Points of intake: 100 yards above Ross - Koiterangi
Track,

Estimated time and cost of construction: One year;
£500.

Mean depth and breadth: 2 ft. by 3 ft.
Number of heads to be diverted: Ten.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Mining.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.
