Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Situate between Stoney and Rough-and-Tumble Creeks. Commencing at a point on the western or right-hand bank of Stoney Creek (about 100 chains up-stream from railway-bridge), and terminating at applicant's proposed new sawmill-site on Bitera's private land on northern bank of Rough-and-Tumble Creek, about 60 chains south-east of applicant's old mill; as per sketch-plan filed herewith.

Length and intended course of race: 87 chains; southerly, being partly—i.e., 70 chains—through Bitera's private land. Points of intake: Starting-point, western bank of Stoney Creek.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Three months; £150.

Mean depth and breadth: 18in. deep, 3ft. wide. Number of heads to be diverted: Twenty heads.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Sawmilling purposes ; to work applicant's proposed new mill. Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: No. 2: Commencing in water-race from Teviot River, No. 1192R, dated 10th September, 1908, at a point about 2 miles 15 chains from head of said water-race, the water to drop from race into Dry Gully, down which it will flow into Thomson’s Gully, and thence by Thomson’s Gully to junction with by-wash No. 1, the first 13 chains of the course running through the freehold lands of John Avis Pannett.

Length and intended course of race: 45 chains; east to west.

Mean depth and breadth: No excavation.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 1 p.m., 5th March, 1909.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Commencing in water-race from Teviot River, No. 1192R, dated 10th September, 1908, at a point about 6 miles 55 chains from head of said race, being near head of pipe-line, and terminating in rocky gully down which No. 8 By-wash is applied for, and being the freehold lands of John Avis Pannett.

Length and intended course of race: 13 chains; south-east to north-west.

Mean depth and breadth: 13 ft. by 10 ft. on top and 7 ft. on bottom.

Purpose for which water is to be used : To carry the overflow from Penstock back to By-wash No. 8.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 11.30 a.m., 6th March, 1909.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: No. 8: Commencing in water-race from Teviot River to Anderson’s Flat, No. 1192R. dated 10th September, 1908, at a point about 6 miles 45 chains from head of said water-race, or about 10 chains back from head of pipe-line, the water to flow from race down sideling into small rocky gully, down which it will flow into Molyneux River, crossing Main Road, Roxburgh, to Anderson’s Flat by culvert 7ft. wide and 3 ft. high, following bed of small rocky gully all the way through Sections 9 and 11, Block VII, Benger, being the freehold lands of John Avis Pannett, and through mining reserve between said sections and Molyneux River.

Length and intended course of race: 50 chains; east to west.

Mean depth and breadth: No excavation.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 2 p.m., 6th March, 1909.
