Pastoral Run in Hawke’s Bay Land District surrendered.

NOTICE is hereby given that, a surrender of the license of the undermentioned pastoral run having been accepted, the said run has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands will be offered for lease by public auction, for a term of seven years, at the Courthouse, Kaikoura, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the 21st day of April, 1909, under the provisions of section 124 of “The Land Act, 1908.”

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. A deposit of six months’ rent at the rate offered, together with £1 1s. lease fee, must be paid on the fall of the hammer.

  2. No compensation shall be claimed by the lessee, nor shall any be allowed by the Government, on account of any improvements effected by the lessee, nor for any other cause.

  3. Possession will be given on the day of sale.

  4. The lease shall be for the term specified herein, but shall be subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land being required by the Government.

  5. The rent shall be payable half-yearly in advance.

  6. The lessee will have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the land comprised in the lease, except with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands first had and obtained.

  7. The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, and sweetbriar on the land comprised in the lease; and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause to be removed, all gorse, sweetbriar, broom, or other noxious weeds or plants, as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  8. The lease shall be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee shall fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within thirty days after the date on which the same ought to be fulfilled.

Pastoral Runs in Canterbury Land District for License by Public Auction.

Christchurch, 16th March, 1909.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral runs will be offered for license by public auction, at this office, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, the 28th day of April, 1909, under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

If the runs are not disposed of at auction, they will be open for application thereafter at the upset annual rentals.

Run No. 182, the Spit Station, Akaroa County: Situated on the spit between Lake Ellesmere and the sea, embracing the sea frontage from near Taumutu for a distance of about nine miles eastward; the Birdling’s Flat Railway-station is distant about eight miles and a half from the nearest point of the run. The area comprises stony sandy soil or shingle, and sand wastes, with tussock and other native grasses growing in places. There is no permanent water on this run, and no improvements have been effected.

Run No. 103, Springburn Station, Ashburton County: Situated on the south-eastern slopes of Mount Somers, about four miles from Springburn Railway-station. The upper portion is rough, broken, rocky country, but the lower slopes are fairly well grassed, and easy of access. The run is bounded on three sides by forest, and intersected by deep gullies covered with birch forest. Altitude, from 2,000 ft. to 3,000 ft. above sea-level.

The improvements consist of about 22 chains of boundary-fencing; estimated value, about £15.

Possession will be given on the 1st March, 1910.

The information given above as to the valuation of improvements is published for the information of intending purchasers, but must be taken as approximately only, as the final valuation has to be made in accordance with section 244 of “The Land Act, 1908,” at least three months before the expiry of the present license.

The licensee of any run upon which deer range shall allow to any legal holder of a license to stalk deer within the district in which such run lies free and unrestricted rights of ingress, egress, and regress upon and over any portion of the run for the purpose of stalking deer.

Lands in Auckland Land District for Disposal under Section 131 of “The Land Act, 1908.”

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 326 of “The Land Act, 1908,” that the undermentioned land will be disposed of to the holder of adjoining land, under section 131 of the said Act, at the Land Board meeting to be held on Thursday, the 27th day of May, 1909.
