They are situated at about five to twelve miles from Tarras Post and Telephone Office, and twenty-five to thirty miles from Cromwell. Each run contains a fair percentage of low country. The high country is well grassed, and is not excessively steep.

The distance from Cromwell is about twenty-four miles, on a fairly good road, and there is a telephone and post office, and also a school, at Nevis Township, within easy reach of the runs. The higher ridges are more or less subject to severe snowstorms.

Runs 330A and 330B consist of dry warm ridges, about two-thirds of which has a good aspect, the remainder facing the west and north-west. The altitude is from 1,100 ft. to 4,000 ft. The higher tops are fairly well grassed, but are somewhat dangerous in winter of heavy snow. They are adjacent to Bannockburn Town, at which there is a post-office, telephone-office, and school.
