Teachers' Certificate Examinations, 1909.
Education Department,
Wellington, 19th February, 1909.
THE following lists contain statements of the principal results of the examinations held in January. In the preparation of the lists consideration has been given to candidates' successes at previous examinations for teachers' certificates and at University examinations.
The first list (I) contains the names of the successful candidates for Classes B, C, and D. Teachers' certificates will be issued to such of these as have produced satisfactory evidence of age, have passed the special medical examination prescribed, and have fulfilled the necessary conditions as to length of service and efficiency in teaching. The second list (II) gives the names of those who have passed the examination for a certificate except in one or two subjects. Those candidates for the Class C examination who, though not entitled to be placed in the second list, passed in a "section" under clause 26 of the regulations, are included in the third list (III). In the fourth list (IV) are given the names of the candidates whose work has been deemed worthy of special mention, in accordance with clause 40.
The next examination will take place in January, 1910, beginning about the 5th day of the month. Notice must be sent to the "Inspector-General of Schools, Wellington," so as to reach him not later than the 30th September. Candidates that have obtained "partial pass" must observe this rule equally with other candidates, and must not expect to
receive any further intimation of the date at which the notices become due. Forms of application can be obtained at the office of the Department or of any Education Board.
Certificated teachers that have gained promotion at this examination may send their certificates to the Department for endorsement.
