Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.
Patent Office,
Wellington, 15th December, 1909.
COMPLETE specifications relating to the undermentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the grant of any such patent. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.
The copies of claims and extracts from the specifications and drawings are merely intended to give some further indication of the invention than is disclosed in the title, and the complete specifications and drawings should be referred to for a description of the invention.
No. 25425.—5th January, 1909.—ALFRED LAUNCELOT JAMES TAIT, of 8 Anderson's Bay Road, Dunedin, New Zealand, Flax-miller and Inventor. Improvements in machinery for treating and dressing flax leaves or stems, or fibres thereof.*
Claims.—(1.) In improved machinery for treating flax leaves, stems, or fibres, in combination, a feed-box, a chute having recesses in which drum-discs work (which may have teeth), with pressure-boards, between which and the said drum-discs the leaves have to pass, travelling-rollers, push-rollers, feed-rollers placed vertically or horizontally, with stationary or revolving stripper-bar and catcher and hanking-devices, all substantially as set forth, and as shown on the drawings. (2.) In flax-stripping drums, auxiliary bars as well as the usual ones, all substantially as set forth. (3.) In flax-treating machinery, in chute thereof, a feed-box, ratchet wheel and spindle, pawl, crank combined with same, also check-pawl to prevent reversal of the ratchet, and the drum-discs connected therewith, all substantially as set forth. (4.) In flax-dressing machinery, in combination, chute, travelling-rollers (loose or driven), pressure-board, all substantially as set forth. (5.) In flax-machinery, catchers on sprocket-wheel chains, pressure-boards and suitable carrying frame secured thereto, combined with arms or rollers on bearings, substantially as set forth. (6.) In flax-machinery, hank-making devices, chains, sprockets, pressure-boards, combined with hinged arms, all substantially as set forth, and as shown on the drawings.

Claims.—(1.) An apparatus marked A for extracting weeds; a frame carried on wheels and cylinder which drives clearing-roller B, substantially set forth in plan and specification. (2.) An apparatus marked D, combined with cranks marked E, driven from wheel F, substantially set forth in plan and specification.
