TENDERS will be received up to 5 p.m. of the 3rd January, 1910, for the supply and delivery of four hundred (400) parcel-post mail-bags.
Specifications and samples may be seen at the Chief Post-offices at Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin, or at the Post and Telegraph Stores, Waterloo Quay, Wellington.
Tenders must be addressed to “The Controller of Stores, Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington,” clearly marked on the outside “Tender for Parcel-post Mail-bags.”
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Pastoral Runs in Southland Land District for License by Public Auction.
District Lands Office,
Invercargill, 13th December, 1909.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral runs will be offered for license by public auction, at the District Lands Office, Invercargill, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the 23rd day of February, 1910, under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Run 419 (Class A): Mason District, Stewart Island County; area, 5,000 acres; term, fourteen years; upset annual rental, £12 10s. Weighted with £57 10s., valuation for cottage and fencing.
Run 422 (Class A): Mason District, Stewart Island County; area, 280 acres; term, fourteen years; upset annual rental, £3 15s. Weighted with £10 10s., valuation for hut, clearing, and fencing-wire.
Run 538 (Class A): Paterson District, Stewart Island County; area, 300 acres; term, fourteen years; upset annual rental, £5.
Possession will be given on 1st March, 1910.
Description of Runs.
Run 419: Mostly open country, the greater portion of which is low-lying; the remainder sandy ridges, covered chiefly with red-tussock. Situated on the west of Stewart Island, near Mason Bay.
Run 422: All hill, about one-half low scrub, balance fair sheep-country; soil good, and clearing easy. Situated on the west of Stewart Island and to the south of Mason Bay. This run is one of Earnest Islands.
Run 538: Bush land, chiefly rata and inferior stunted rimu and miro. Soil very good in many parts. This run is known as Bench Island, and is situated opposite Paterson Inlet, Stewart Island.

Land in Auckland Land District for Lease by Public Tender.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 21st day of January, 1910, for a lease of the undermentioned land under “The Thermal Springs Districts Act, 1908.”
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—ROTORUA COUNTY—ROTORUA SURVEY DISTRICT.
SECTION 5, Block X, comprising 470 acres 3 roods 11 perches. Weighted with £1,056, valuation for two houses and out-buildings, 200 acres of bush felled and grassed, and fencing. Situated at the junction of the Oxford-Rotorua and Mamaku dray-roads, about three miles and a quarter from the Mamaku Railway-station, on the Auckland-Rotorua line. The proposed railway extension, Mamaku to Te Puke, is expected to traverse this section.
Term of Lease.—Twenty-one years, without right of renewal.
Rental payable half-yearly in advance; the first half-year’s rent at the rate tendered, and lease fee (£1 1s.), to be deposited with the tender. The loading of £1,056 for improvements to be paid immediately on acceptance of tender. No right to underlet or part with possession of the land leased, or any part thereof, without the consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands first had and obtained.
The lessee shall discharge all rates, taxes, charges, and other assessments that shall become due and payable.
Within one month from the date of expiry of the lease the then-existing improvements shall be valued by the Crown, and be made a charge against the land in favour of the lessee or persons entitled thereto.
The existing tram-line to a width of 10 ft. is reserved from the area to be leased.
Rental-payments in arrear for two calendar months shall render the lease liable to termination, or a breach of covenant in the lease, expressed or implied, shall entitle the Crown to re-enter and determine the lease.
The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
