The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 576, against 623 in October—a decrease of 47. The deaths in November were 180—a decrease of 23 on the number in October. Of the total deaths, males contributed 91, females 89. Thirty-three of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 18·33 per cent. of the whole number; 27 of these were under one year of age.

There were sixty-five deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards: Fourteen men, 65 (three), 68 (three), 72 (two), 73, 82, 83, 84, 85, 90, and ten women, 65 (three), 68, 70 (two), 72, 76 (two), 84, died at Auckland; two men, 70, 78, and seven women, 66, 67, 76 (two), 78, 80, 82, at Christchurch; ten men, 69 (three), 71, 73, 74, 78, 81, 83, 87, and three women, 65, 68, 73, at Wellington; and ten men, 65, 70 (three), 73, 74, 77 (two), 78, 79, and nine women, 66 (two), 67, 72, 73 (two), 74 (two), 80, at Dunedin.
