  1. That the liability of members is limited.
  2. That the capital of the company is £106,250, divided into 25,000 shares of £4 5s.
  3. That the number of shares issued is 25,000.
  4. That calls to the amount of 7s. 6d. per share have been made, under which the sum of £9,375 has been received.
  5. That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates under administration during the half-year ending 31st day of October, 1908, is £10,042 16s.
  6. That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates under administration during the half-year ending 31st day of October, 1908, is £16,323 16s. 8d.
  7. That the amount of the balance held to the credits of estates under administration during the half-year ending 31st day of October, 1908, is £2,523 0s. 3d.
  8. That the liabilities of the company on the 1st day of November last were debts owing to sundry persons by the company, viz.: On judgment, nil; on specialty, nil; on notes or bills, nil; on simple contracts, £11,546 15s. 8d.; on estimated liabilities, nil.
  9. That the assets of the company on that date were: Government securities, £3,000; bills of exchange and promissory notes, nil; other securities, £24,900 0s. 1d.; cash at banker’s and on deposit, £4,103 15s. 1d.
    And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

I, ALEXANDER CAMPBELL SMITH, M.B., Mast. Surg., 1893, Univ. Edin., now residing in Wellington, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 28th December next to have my name placed on the Medical Register for the Dominion of New Zealand, and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar-General.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between the undersigned, HENRY HAY WEBB and JOHN KEMPTHORNE, under the style of “Messrs. Webb and Kempthorne,” Commission Agents, Timaru, has been dissolved as from this date. The business will in future be carried on by the said Henry Hay Webb in his own name and on his own account, and he will receive all debts owing to the late firm and discharge all liabilities due by the firm. NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership which has for some time past been carried on by JOHN FEARON HURSTHOUSE and WILLIAM RICHMOND HURSTHOUSE as Dental Surgeons, under the firm of “Hursthouse Brothers,” at Biddiford Street, Newtown, and at Willis Street, both in the City of Wellington, has been dissolved by consent as from the 30th day of June, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 24th day of November, 1908, presented to Mr. Justice Edwards, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by R. and W. Hellaby (Limited), of Auckland, a creditor of the said H. and B. Andrew (Limited); and the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on Monday, the 14th day of December, 1908, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court House, Auckland; and any creditor or contributory of the said H. and B. Andrew (Limited) desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said H. and B. Andrew (Limited) under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said H. and B. Andrew (Limited) requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

SCHOOL FOR DEAF-MUTES, SUMNER, NEAR CHRISTCHURCH.

Under the control and supervision of the Education Department.

FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay this amount. In case of necessity admission is free.
By the Education Act, the education of deaf children between the ages of 7 and 16 is made compulsory. A child is, as a rule, best fitted to begin the school course at about the age of 6, but advice should be obtained as soon as any sign of deafness is observed.
The following classes of deaf children are admitted:

  1. Children born deaf, or who have lost their hearing before learning to speak.
  2. Children who can hear a little, but are too deaf to be taught in an ordinary school.
  3. Children who have lost their hearing after having learned to speak.
    Parents and other persons acquainted with such cases above the age of 4 are invited to communicate with the Director, or with
