Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Tauranga, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

BOROUGH OF TAURANGA.
In the matter of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," and amendments, and of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," and amendments.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 23rd of November, 1908, a proposal was submitted by the Tauranga Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Tauranga to raise a special loan of Β£12,000 for the purpose of constructing and making waterworks, reservoirs, and water-races, and laying mains and connections, and supplying water to the inhabitants of the Borough of Tauranga, and acquiring the necessary land, buildings, machinery, plant, pipes, and property; and to make an annual-recurring special rate of 2s. in the pound on the annual value of all rateable property in the said borough as security for the loan, interest, and sinking fund in connection with such loan, and to pledge as security for the loan and interest the works, reservoirs, races, mains, connections, lands, buildings, erections, machinery, and plant, and the revenue therefrom; and to make provision for a sinking fund of at least Β£1 per centum per annum. The whole of the loan to be repayable at the expiration of forty-one years from the raising of the loan, and to pay out of the loan-moneys the cost of raising the loan and the first year's interest on the loan. And that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For, 190 ; against, 60.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
