Change of Name of Borough of Hawksbury to Borough of Waikouaiti.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Council of the Borough of Hawksbury has, by resolution adopted at an ordinary meeting thereof, requested that the name of that borough be altered from “Hawksbury” to “Waikouaiti”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Designation of Districts Act, 1894,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the borough now known as “Hawksbury” shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Waikouaiti,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such borough accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight.

New County of Waimate West divided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Counties Act, 1908,” and “The Waimate West County Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Waimate West, as constituted by the said Acts, into two ridings, to be called the Kaupokonui Riding and the Waimate Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.
And I do hereby declare that three members shall be elected for the said Kaupokonui Riding, and four members for the said Waimate Riding. And I do further declare that Tuesday, the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight, shall be the day upon which the election of the first Council of the said County of Waimate West shall take place, and that Tuesday, the fifteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight, at half past seven o’clock in the afternoon, shall be the time, and the office of the late Waimate Road Board, in the Town Hall, Manaia, shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.
SCHEDULE.
KAUPOKONUI RIDING.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded towards the north by Egmont and Eltham Counties, towards the east by Eltham and Hawera Counties, towards the south by the boundary between the Kaupokonui and Waimate Survey Districts, and towards the north-west by Egmont County.
WAIMATE RIDING.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded towards the north by the boundary between the Kaupokonui and Waimate Survey Districts, towards the east by Hawera County, towards the south by the sea, and towards the west by Egmont County.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and thirty-three of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby proclaim as closed the road described in the Schedule hereto.
ERRATA.—In an Order in Council dated the 6th day of October, 1908, “Declaring a Road near Burnham Railway-station taken for a Road-diversion in connection with the Hurunui–Waitaki Railway to be a County Road,” and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 78, of 15th October, 1908, pages 2611–12, for “County of Selwyn” read “Courtenay Road District,” and for “county road” read “district road.”
