Notice specifying the Sections of “The Licensing Act, 1908,”
under which the Licensing Poll shall be taken in Licensing
Districts.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by reason of changes in electoral districts
the licensing districts mentioned in the Schedule
hereto (being all the licensing districts) are new districts
within the meaning of section eight of “The Licensing Act,
1908”:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in me
by that section, and for the purposes of paragraphs (c)
and (d) of that section, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that at the first licensing poll to be taken in such new
districts (being the first licensing poll after the gazetting
of this notice) the poll shall be taken under the sections of
“The Licensing Act, 1908,” as specified in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
In the following new districts the licensing poll shall be
taken under section 38 of “The Licensing Act, 1908”: Grey Lynn, Ashburton, Oamaru, Clutha, Mataura, Inver-
cargill.
In all other new districts (to wit, these hereinafter
mentioned) the licensing poll shall be taken under sections 11 to 28 of the said Act: Bay of Islands,
Marsden, Kaipara, Waitemata, Auckland (comprising the
Electoral Districts of Auckland West, Auckland Central,
and Auckland East), Eden, Parnell, Manukau, Franklin,
Thames, Ohinemuri, Waikato, Tauranga, Bay of Plenty,
Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Napier, Waipawa, Pahiutua, Mas-
terton, Wairarapa, Taumarunui, Egmont, Taranaki, Patea,
Stratford, Rangitikei, Wanganui, Oroua, Palmerston, Mana-
watu, Otaki, Hutt, Wellington (comprising the Electoral
Districts of Wellington North, Wellington Central, and
Wellington East), Wellington South, Wellington Suburbs,
Nelson, Motueka, Buller, Grey, Westland, Wairau, Huru-
nui, Kaiapoi, Avon, Riccarton, Christchurch (comprising
the electoral districts of Christchurch North, Christchurch
East, and Christchurch South), Lyttelton, Ellesmere, Sel-
wyn, Geraldine, Timaru, Waitaki, Tuapeka, Chalmers,
Dunedin (comprising the Electoral Districts of Dunedin
North, Dunedin West, and Dunedin Central), Dunedin
South, Taieri, Bruce, Wakatipu, Wallace, Awarua.
