Land Sales and Leases

Oct. 29.] THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE. 2751

Locality and Description.

Ninia is situated on the North Island Main Trunk Railway, about seventy-nine miles from Marton. The sections offered are level, and covered with tussock, rushes, and grass. The soil is pumice grit, with a fair amount of vegetable matter intermixed, overlying volcanic débris on papa formation. The Waitaki Stream, on which the town is situated, and other streams in the vicinity are visited by a good number of anglers. It is likely that tourists will visit the locality in the summer season, as Mount Ruapehu is in the vicinity. The altitude of the town is about 1,900 ft. above sea-level.
