Officiating Ministers for 1908.—Notice No. 39.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand passed in the eighth year of the reign of His Majesty King Edward VII, and intituled “The Marriage Act, 1908,” the following names of Officiating Ministers within the meaning of the said Act are published for general information:—

Presbyterian Church of New Zealand.
Mr. George Clement James Parfitt.

Congregational Independents.
The Reverend Dudley Bright Ashford.

Dunedin Society of Spiritualists.
Mr. Gordon Coleman.

Tenders for Karamea—Little Wanganui Mail-service.

General Post Office,
Wellington, 19th October, 1908.

SEALED tenders will be received at the Chief Post-office, Westport, until Tuesday, the 17th November, 1908, for the conveyance of mails by steam-vessel between Westport and Karamea thrice monthly, and between Westport and Little Wanganui monthly, for a period from the 1st December, 1908, to the 31st December, 1912.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. The attention of intending tenderers is directed to the terms and conditions of contract printed at the back of the tender-forms. Special conditions as to freight and fares may be ascertained, and forms of tender, with the terms and conditions of contract, may be procured from the Chief Postmasters at Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington. and Westport.

The successful tenderer will be required to show that he is in a position to satisfactorily carry out the service.

The contractor whose tender may be accepted must be prepared to carry out the service according to a time-table framed by the Department.

No tender will be considered unless made on the printed form.

Tenders, superscribed “Tenders for Westport—Karamea and Westport—Little Wanganui Mail-services,” to be addressed to the Chief Postmaster, Westport.

Fixing Sittings of the Supreme Court in the Northern and Gisborne Judicial Districts.

WE, the Judges of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested in us by “The Judicature Act, 1908,” hereby make the following rules respecting the places and times for holding sittings of the Supreme Court and sittings in Chambers, in the Northern and Gisborne Judicial Districts, for the year 1909:—

Sittings for the trial of criminal cases will be held at the Supreme Court House, AUCKLAND, to commence on the following days, at 11 a.m. :—

Monday, 8th February.
Monday, 24th May.
Monday, 16th August.
Monday, 15th November.

Sittings for the trial of civil actions will be held at the Supreme Court House, AUCKLAND, to commence on the following days, at 11 a.m. :—

Monday, 1st February.
Monday, 17th May.
Monday, 9th August.
Monday, 8th November.

The trial of causes under “The Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act, 1908,” may take place at any of the above-mentioned sittings for the trial of civil actions.

Sittings of the Court in Banco will be held at the Courthouse, AUCKLAND, every Wednesday, except during vacation, the absence of the Judge, or when he is engaged on other business.

Sittings in Chambers will be held at the Judge’s Chambers, in the Courthouse, AUCKLAND, every Tuesday and Friday, except during vacation, the absence of the Judge, or when he is engaged on other business.

Sittings in Chambers at other times and during vacation, in respect of urgent business, may be held at such times and places as may suit the convenience of the Judge.

Sittings for the trial of criminal and civil cases, and of causes under “The Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act, 1908,” will be held at the Courthouse, NEW PLYMOUTH, to commence on the following days, at 11 a.m. :—

Tuesday, 16th March.
Monday, 28th June.
Monday, 13th September.

Business in Banco and Chambers may be disposed of in the course of these sittings, at such days and hours as the Judge may appoint.

Sittings for the trial of criminal and civil cases, and of causes under “The Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act, 1908,” will be held at the Courthouse, GISBORNE, to commence on the following days, at 10.30 a.m. :—

Thursday, 4th March.
Monday, 20th September.

Business in Banco and in Chambers may be disposed of in the course of these sittings, at such days and hours as the Judge may appoint.

If any of the days above appointed for sittings should be a public holiday, the sittings will commence on the first day after the day so appointed which is not a holiday.

Wednesday, 3rd February.
Monday, 10th May.
Monday, 16th August.
Monday, 15th November.

Sittings for the trial of civil actions will be held at the Supreme Court House, WELLINGTON, to commence on the following days, at 11 a.m. :—

Wednesday, 10th February.
Monday, 17th May.
Monday, 23rd August.
Monday, 22nd November.

The trial of causes under “The Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act, 1908,” may take place at any of the above-mentioned sittings for the trial of civil actions.

Sittings of the Court in Banco will be held at the Courthouse, WELLINGTON, every Wednesday, at half past 10 o’clock in the forenoon, except during vacation, or during the absence of the Judge, or unless the Judge is engaged on other business.

Sittings in Chambers will be held at the Judge’s Chambers, in the Courthouse, WELLINGTON, every Tuesday and Friday, at half past 10 o’clock in the forenoon, except during vacation, or during the absence of the Judge, or unless the Judge is engaged on other business.

Sittings in Chambers at other times and in vacation, in respect of urgent business, may be held at such times and places as may suit the convenience of the Judge.

Sittings for the trial of criminal and civil cases, and of causes under “The Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act, 1908,” will be held at the Supreme Court House, WANGANUI, to commence on the following days, at 11 a.m. :—

Tuesday, 2nd March.
Tuesday, 8th June.
Tuesday, 21st September.

And for civil and divorce business only on Wednesday, 8th December.

Such business in Banco and in Chambers as the Judge shall allow may be disposed of in the course of these sittings, at such days and hours as the Judge may appoint.

Sittings for the trial of criminal and civil cases, and of causes under “The Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act, 1908,” will be held at the Courthouse, NAPIER, to commence on the following days, at 10.30 a.m. :—
