also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may be
selected on renewable lease only, in accordance with the
provisions of section one hundred and thirty-five of the said
Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metals,
minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the
price at which the said land shall be leased, as mentioned
in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said
land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of
"The Land Act, 1908."

Weighted with £554, valuation for milling-timbers,
payable in equal half-yearly instalments extending over a
period of ten years and secured by approved promissory notes.
Altitude, from 400 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Mostly
undulating to level land; about 100 acres at north end
somewhat broken; about 80 acres covered with fern and
scrub; balance mixed forest, comprising kauri, totara, rimu,
kahikatea, rata, tawa, matai, taraire, with undergrowth of
supplejack, kiekie, and ferns. Soil a mixed loam and clay
from fair to good quality, on sandstone formation; well
watered by streams. Situated a little over one mile from
Towai, mostly by dray-road.

this nineteenth day of September, one thousand
nine hundred and eight.

Opening Land in Auckland Land District for Sale or
Selection.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by "The Land Act, 1908," I,
William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, having received the report of the Under-
Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one
hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open
for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-fifth day of
January, one thousand nine hundred and nine; and also
that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at
the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be
selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renew-
able lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the
said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in
the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land
shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the
provisions of "The Land Act, 1908."

Altitude from 100 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. About 60
acres flat, balance broken; 60 acres scrub land, balance
fern, with small clumps of bush in gullies. Soil of fair
second-class quality, on sandstone formation. Well watered
by stream and springs. Distant about nine miles from
Kaitaia by fair road.

boundary fenced with gorse-and-post-and-wire fence. Situ-
ated from half to three-quarters of a mile from Avondale
Railway-station by good road.

Altitude, from 150 ft. to 200 ft. above sea-level. Undulating
land, about 70 acres tea-tree and fern; 20 acres old grass
run out; balance in good grass. Soil of good quality, on
limestone formation; fairly well watered by small stream.
Distant about three miles from Whakapirau Post-office by
well-formed, metalled road.
The improvements (not included in the capital value of
the section) consist of a three-roomed cottage, 112 chains of
fencing, and sheep-dip, of a total value of £143 16s.
*Interest and sinking fund on buildings valued at £143 16s.,
payable in cash or in fourteen years by half-yearly instalments of
£7 5s. Total half-yearly payment, £30 13s.
