This section was originally under heavy bush. The soil is of a light nature, and the aspect generally is good. Two steep gullies run through the section and give it a somewhat broken surface. Situated about a mile from a school and about two miles from Romahapa Railway-station.

Weighted with £60 14s. 6d., valuation for improvements. This section is situated on the Eweburn Creek, about four miles from Ranfurly Railway-station.
This section is level, and is intersected by the Naseby-Gimmerburn Road. There is no permanent water, but it can be got by sinking. The land is still in its natural state, but a portion of the area could be cultivated.
Vincent County.—Tarras Survey District.

Weighted with £178 19s., valuation for improvements. An open section adjoining the Clutha and Lindis Rivers, about fifteen miles from Cromwell. The land on the river level is good, but the northern end of the section is shingly and dry.
Clutha County.—Woodland Survey District.

Weighted with £9, valuation for improvements. This section is covered with heavy bush, which contains a large proportion of kamai. The aspect of one half is northerly and north-westerly, and of the other half, southerly. The soil is fair, and there is a permanent water-supply. Situated about two miles and three-quarters from Ratanui and about four miles from Catlin’s Railway-station.

Land temporarily reserved in the Canterbury Land District.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Canterbury Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, being part of the Avon River bed and towing-path reserve, Block I, Sumner Survey District. Bounded towards the north, east, and south generally by the road reserve along the bank of the River Avon, fronting Rural Sections Nos. 7736, 15836, 16033, and towards the west by the new cut for the Avon River through Section No. 460; save and except thereout the eastern portion of the last-mentioned section, owned by E. Sefton, as registered in Deed 154p185, and a road-line, to be defined, giving access thereto; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56303/14, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For plantation purposes.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
ALEXANDER NICOL and
ROBERT FLEMING
to be Trustees, in the place of Thomas Woodwall Davies, resigned, and George Dickeson, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Ngaruawahia (No. 1) Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and eight.
