has been made to appear that such agreements are sufficient
for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:
And whereas a plan has been prepared in duplicate show-
ing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and
the Minister for Public Works has recommended that this
Proclamation should be issued:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
“ The Public Works Act, 1905,” “ The Scenery Preser-
vation Act, 1903,” and “ The Scenery Preservation Amend-
ment Act, 1906,” and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is hereby taken for scenery-preservation purposes as afore-
said. And it is hereby declared that this Proclamation shall
take effect on and after the thirty-first day of January,
one thousand nine hundred and eight.

Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight
Commander of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight
Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Go-
vernor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its
Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the
said Dominion, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of January,
in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hun-
dred and eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the tenth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
eighteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-three, the importation of grape-vines, grape-vine
cuttings, and grapes was prohibited: And whereas it has
been deemed desirable to revoke the said Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers conferred by “ The Customs Laws Consolidation
Act, 1882,” and of all other authorities enabling me in that
behalf, do hereby revoke the said Proclamation as from the
twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred
and eight.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this six-
teenth day of December, 1907.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto is required for a public work, to wit, for
the purpose of a wharf-site in the Rangiuru No. 1a Block,
Block III, Maketu Survey District:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native
owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the
said land, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “ The
Public Works Act, 1905 ”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the
powers vested in him by the eighty-ninth section of the
said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him
in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion
of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
declare that the land shown upon the map, and described
in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the
purposes of the said wharf-site; and the said land shall vest
in His Majesty the King as from the twentieth day of
February, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by “ The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excel-
lency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and
declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall,
on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a district
road.

SCHEDULE.
All that road in the Taranaki Land District, Oakura Road
District, known as the Carrington Road, commencing at
its junction with the Plymouth Road, and running in a
south-westerly direction along the frontages of Sections 7
and 8 to the south-eastern boundary of Section 9, all in
Block V, Egmont Survey District, being a distance of 1 mile
10 chains, more or less; as the said road is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked R. 51618, deposited in the
office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the
Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
