Land temporarily reserved for a Site for a Post-office in the Otago Land District.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a site for a post-office.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 79, Block I, Cromwell Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at a point on the eastern side of a public road (the said point being distant 1357 links north and 10928 links east of Trig. Station Q, in Block II, Bannockburn Survey District), and proceeding thence in a north-westerly direction at a right angle to the said public road, a distance of 250 links; thence along a line in a north-easterly direction at a right angle to the last-mentioned line, a distance of 100 links; thence along a line in a south-easterly direction at a right angle to the last-mentioned line, a distance of 250 links, to the public road aforesaid; and thence along the said public road to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 58716/7, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 19, Block V, Turanganui Survey District (Te Arai Settlement). Bounded towards the north by Te Arai Valley Road; towards the east generally by a school-site and the Whennahou Block; towards the south by Section No. 21, Block V, Turanganui Survey District (Te Arai Settlement); and towards the west by Section No. 18 of said Block V: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 19369¹/46A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. For a site for a public school.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 12 acres and 26 perches, more or less, being Section No. 21, Block V, Turanganui Survey District (Te Arai Settlement). Bounded towards the north by Sections Nos. 12 to 19, Block V, Turanganui Survey District (Te Arai Settlement); towards the east by the Manutuke Block; towards the south by Section No. 28 of the said Block V; and towards the west by the Pakowhai Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 19369¹/46B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. For a public recreation-ground.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Section No. 30, Block V, Turanganui Survey District (Te Arai Settlement). Bounded towards the north by Section No. 28; towards the east by said Section No. 28 and by Section No. 29; towards the south by said Section No. 29; all of Block V, Turanganui Survey District (Te Arai Settlement), aforesaid; and towards the west by the Pakowhai Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 19369¹/46C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. For a resting-place for travelling stock.

Notifying Lands in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the eleventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Opening Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the ninth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Principally hilly country. Elevation, 300 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. About 265 acres in native grass, clover, and scrub; remainder covered with light bush, consisting of kowhai, tawa, manuka, cedar, &c. The open land was originally cleared and grassed, but it has been neglected and reverted to native grass and manuka scrub. Good dark soil, on clay-and-papa subsoil. Watered by several streams.
