Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Street in the City of Christchurch.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a street:
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the City of Christchurch, the local authority of which has assented to the issue of this Proclamation:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said street:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section one hundred and ninety-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a street, and that the said street shall be under the control of the Corporation of the City of Christchurch, and shall be maintained by the said Corporation in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Corporation.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury, in the City of Christchurch, containing 3 roods 28·8 perches, more or less, being portion of Rural Section 72, and being bounded as follows: On the east by Park Road, a distance of 100 links; on the south by the southern boundary of the railway land, a distance of 1033·1 links; on the north-west by Lincoln Road, a distance of 218·85 links; and on the north by other portion of the railway land, a distance of 856·7 links: as the said parcel of land is shown coloured yellow on the plan marked W.R. 16290, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway to take further land at Addington, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway, and to take land for a road-diversion in connection therewith:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.
