No. 24685.—18th July, 1908.—LIONEL McLELLAN, of Auckland, New Zealand, Ferro-concrete Worker. An improved moulding-machine for ferro-concrete work.
Extract from Specification.—The mode of operation is as follows: The piles, buttress, or abutments being in position, I erect the temporary walings longitudinally and transversely to carry the rails on which the machine is enabled to travel in desired direction. And the machine is capable of expansion or contraction by means of slide-bars. The boxes or moulding-boxes are secured in position by temporary bridge-pieces between the two boxes or moulds. The steel frames are put into position, and the boxes filled in as usual to form reinforced-concrete girder. The machine is released from its position by means of the collapsible sides or shutters by drawing the slide-bars and bolts. The machine is slightly lowered to enable wheels II to engage rails G; it then can be removed from the arched girder and brought into contact with rails F by means of wheels J, which will allow a transverse motion and enable the machine to be removed to another bay.
