Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the undermentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the grant of any such patent. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.
No. 23027.—22nd June, 1906.—THOMAS PARKER, M.I.C.E., of 1B Chapel Street, Edgware Road, London W., Engineer. Improvements in and relating to fuel.
[NOTE—This is an application under section 106 of the Act, the date given being the official date of the application in Great Britain.]
Claims.—(1.) An improved hard and smokeless fuel prepared from bituminous coal by a process of partial destructive distillation carried on substantially as described. (2.) A process for the preparation of a hard and smokeless fuel from bituminous coal consisting in subjecting the coal to a partial destructive distillation so that the whole mass of the coal is maintained at the temperature of about 800° Fahr. until the illuminating gases cease to be evolved, and then stopping the distillation and quenching the fuel, substantially as described. (3.) A process for the preparation of a hard and smokeless fuel as described in claim 2, and in which prior to quenching the fuel it is treated with steam, substantially as and for the purposes described.

No. 23041.—25th June, 1907.—LAMB AND TODD, Limited, of 27A Victoria Street, Wellington, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Manufacturers’ Agents and Merchants (assignees of Thomas Henry White, of Wellington aforesaid, Commercial Traveller). An improved apparatus for displaying and storing lace curtains and any other fabrics or articles which it is desired to exhibit in a hanging position.*
Claims.—(1.) The improved apparatus for the purpose indicated, comprising a frame adapted to be suspended from the ceiling of a room, wires extending across the frame, means for tightening the wires, means for suspending the articles to be displayed from the wires, and cords for drawing the curtains laterally, and weighted cords for returning the curtains to their normal position, substantially as set forth.

Claims.—(1.) A process of printing on paper or like substances in which colour, such as lampblack, is applied upon the surface upon which the impression has to be made before impression, for the purpose and substantially as described. (2.) A process of printing in which lampblack is used in the manner and substantially as described. (3.) A process of printing, substantially as described.
