Districts Act, 1894,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the locality now known as “ Western Spit,” in the County of Hawke’s Bay, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “ Westshore,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such locality accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eight, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight.

Change of Name of Locality, “ Wainono ” to “ Norton.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS a petition has been presented by settlers in the locality known as “ Wainono,” in the County of Waimate, praying that the name of such locality be changed to “ Norton ”: And whereas the Council of the County of Waimate has, by resolution adopted at an ordinary meeting thereof, consented to the name of “ Norton ” being substituted for the existing name of “ Wainono ”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “ The Designation of Districts Act, 1894,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the locality now known as “ Wainono,” in the County of Waimate, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “ Norton,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such locality accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.

Native Land taken for the Purposes of a Public Cemetery in Tahora Block 2f, Section 2, Block VII, Tuahu Survey District, Cook County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this tenth day of June, 1908.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work to wit,
for the purposes of a public cemetery in the Tahora Block 2f, Section 2, Block VII, Tuahu Survey District :
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said land, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “ The Public Works Act, 1905 ”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-ninth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purposes of the said public cemetery; and the said land shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the twenty-third day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of June, 1908.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a certain public work, to wit, a Native school:
And whereas the Native owners have agreed to make a free gift of the said land to His Majesty the King, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:
And whereas by a partition order made by the Native Land Court, bearing date the second day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, certain aboriginal Natives are declared to be the owners of the Reporua No. 3 Block, within which the said land is situated:
And whereas, as required by “ The Public Works Acts Compilation Act, 1905,” a map has been prepared showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and such map is hereto attached:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “ The Public Works Acts Compilation Act, 1905,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the land shown upon the said map and described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said Native school, and shall vest in His Majesty the King, as from the twenty-ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight.
