APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A BRANCH WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Cromwell.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1905,” the undersigned, the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Cromwell, of Cromwell, hereby applies for a license for a branch water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 29th October, 1907; No. 62948.

Address for service: Care of A. M. Brodrick, Solicitor, Cromwell.

Dated at Cromwell, this 18th day of June, 1908.

Schedule.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Starting at the dividing-box at the back of Thomas Johnstone’s paddock in Water-race No. 1378, 9/7/03, thence through Johnston’s paddock, then through Towan’s paddock, then through McFelin’s paddock, then back into Johnstone’s paddock, then through McFelin’s again, then through Chun Dun’s leasehold land, and terminating in O. C. Sander’s leasehold land at proposed dam.

Length and intended course of race: Five miles and a half; north-west to south-east.

Points of intake: Water-race No. 1378, 9/7/03, at dividing-box at back of Johnstone’s paddock.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Three months; £200.

Mean depth and breadth: 1 ft. deep; 2 ft. 6 in. wide.

Number of heads to be carried: Three heads.

Purpose for which water is to be used: To supply the borough with water for domestic use, industrial pursuits, and irrigation.

Proposed term of license: To end of term of Water-race No. 1378, 9/7/03.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Meeting of the members of the company will be held on, and is hereby called for, Friday, the 3rd day of July, 1908, at 4 p.m., at the office of the Liquidators, 10 Lower Rattray Street, Dunedin, for the purpose of having an account showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of laid before them, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidators; and also declaring by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company, and of the Liquidators thereof, shall be disposed of.
