No. 24161.—23rd March, 1908.—EDMUND COULSON, of 116 A’Beckett Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Oil and Gas Engine Manufacturer. Improvements in oil-engines and the like.
Claims.—(1.) In an engine of the class indicated, a stepped bar, wedge, or the like hanging downwardly, or set about vertically, supported conveniently at a height which is variable relatively to a pushing-member, whereby fuel-feed shall be varied. (2.) For the purposes indicated, a governor attachment having projections or parts, one to operate a movable lever or the like, the other to be limited in range of movement as predetermined by an adjustable plate or the like. (3.) For the purposes indicated, a movable plate or the like provided with a suitable surface or series of recesses, and fixing-means, in combination with a support or pedestal having a bracket supporting a lever having suitable connection with a stepped bar or wedge, substantially as described. (4.) In an engine of the class indicated, a plunger end block or member 13, constructed as set forth. (5.) In an engine of the class indicated, a member having an arm actuated by a cam on the side shaft, and another arm adapted to variably reciprocate a block or member at the end of an oil-feed or pump plunger, as set forth. (6.) In engines of the class indicated, a block or member having slots or the like, in combination with a plunger, a wedge or like bar, a pusher for the latter, and means actuated by a cam or the like of moving the pusher and the block, as set forth. (7.) The combination with an engine-governor having means to (as its speed varies) raise and lower a stepped bar or wedge, of a fuel-feed plunger, a slotted member at the end thereof, and (engaging the slots) parts operative as set forth. (8.) As a whole, the combination of described parts illustrated in Fig. 2.
