Constituting the Town District of Pleasant Point, in the County of Levels.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is enacted by “The Town Districts Act, 1904,” that, notwithstanding the repeal by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” of “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” and “The Town Districts Act 1881 Amendment Act, 1883,” the Governor may, in the manner prescribed by “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” declare that any area wherein there are not less than fifty householders shall be a town district, and thereupon the last-mentioned Act, and also “The Town Districts Act 1881 Amendment Act, 1883,” shall be in force in such town district: And whereas a petition has been presented to the Governor by the inhabitants within the area mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto, praying that such area may be constituted a town district under “The Town Districts Act, 1881”: And whereas the number of householders within such area is not less than fifty:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by “The Town Districts Act, 1904,” and “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said area shall be a town district, and the same is hereby constituted a town district under “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” by the name of the Pleasant Point Town District. And in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers I do hereby proclaim, declare, and appoint that the Board of Commissioners for the said district shall consist of seven members.

SCHEDULE.

PLEASANT POINT TOWN DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, situated in Pareora Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-eastern side of Maze’s Road at the southernmost corner of Rural Section No. 6894; thence along the south-eastern boundary of that section to the Tengawai Bridge Road; thence along the south-western side of the last-mentioned road to the easternmost corner of Section No. 4838; thence across that road and along the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 7406 to the westernmost corner of Section No. 10726; thence along the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the Opihi Bridge Road; thence across that road and along its eastern side to the south-western corner of Section No. 23047; thence along the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section and the northern boundary of Reserve No. 2811 to its easternmost corner; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of Section No. 10453; thence along the north-eastern boundary of that section to Butler’s Road; thence along the western side of the last-mentioned road to the railway-line; thence along the railway-line to the easternmost corner of Section No. 9008; thence along the south-eastern, south-western, and north-western boundaries of that section to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 11119; thence across a road and along part of the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the easternmost corner of Allotment No. 106 of the said Section No. 11119; thence along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of the said Allotment No. 106 to Shere Street; thence along the south-eastern side of Shere Street to the north-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 41 of the said Section No. 11119; thence along the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 41 and 40 to the easternmost corner of Daniel O’Sullivan’s land, as shown on certificate of title, Vol. 217, folio 156, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar, at Christchurch; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the said land to the eastern boundary of Section No. 10169; thence along part of the eastern boundary of that section to its south-eastern corner; thence along the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 10169 and 10407 and the south-western boundary of Allotment No. 38 of Section 11119 to Manse Road; thence along the south-eastern side of Manse Road to the western boundary of Section No. 10407; thence along the western boundary of the last-mentioned section

ERRATUM.—In Schedule to Proclamation published in New Zealand Gazette, page 1925, of 27th June, 1907, closing road in Block X, Heretaunga Survey District, Hawke’s Bay County, for “1 acre 0 roods 21·2 perches” read “1 acre 0 roods 25·2 perches.”
