A REQUEST for leave to amend the specification relating to the undermentioned application has been received, and is open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time from one month from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the amendments. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.

The nature of the proposed amendment is as follows:—
(1.) To omit the words “looping,” line 20, page 2, and to insert the words “being carried or fitted” after the word “pipe,” line 20, page 2.
(2.) To insert the words “with or without a loop” after the word “pipes,” line 23, page 2.
(3.) To omit the words “comprised in the loop,” line 25, page 2, and to insert instead the words “thus fitted.”
(4.) To omit the words “and formed into loop 13,” line 14, page 3.
(5.) To insert the words “and may be given a loop formation” after the word “range,” line 15, page 3, and the word “it” before the words “the pipe,” line 15, page 3.
(6.) To omit the words “and if necessary forming,” and insert instead the words “with or without,” lines 3 and 4 of claim 1.
The proprietor (B. Crawford) states, “The reason for amendment is so as to more clearly indicate the character of the invention.”
