The nomenclature of diseases and of causes of death as revised and adopted in 1900 by the International Commission and published by Dr. Jacques Bertillon has been used for the first time in New Zealand for purposes of the preceding table. This classification has been adopted in Australia by the Statistical Bureau of the Commonwealth, and the different States are bringing it into use according to resolutions passed in Conference, December, 1906.
