Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of Roslyn Borough.
Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 10th February, 1908.
PURSUANT to section 176 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the Borough of Roslyn and included in the County of Taieri. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF ROSLYN AND TO BE INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF TAIERI.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, situated in Waikari Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Section No. 41, Waikari Survey District; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 41, 40, 39, 37, 35, and 33; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 31, 30, 29, and 27; thence south-westerly along the western side of the road forming the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the Main North Taieri Road; thence easterly along the southern side of the last-mentioned road, intersecting the northern parts of Sections Nos. 24 and 22, and forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 16, 14, and 12, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 12, 18, 19, and 20; thence generally north-westerly along the north-eastern side of the road forming the south-western boundary of Section No. 20; thence along the south-eastern side of the road forming the north-western boundary of the last-mentioned section to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section No. 21; thence across that road and along the said south-western boundary of Section No. 21 to the easternmost corner of Section No. 50; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section and across the road at its south-western corner; thence generally southerly along the western side of the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 47, 48, 49, 162, 161, and 160 to the Kaikorai Stream; thence generally easterly along the southern bank of the Kaikorai Stream to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 133; thence southerly along part of the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section and a line to the road at the north-eastern corner of Section No. 134, so as to include that part of Sections Nos. 132 and 133 contained in certificate of title, Vol. 1, folio 367, in the office of the District Land Registrar, at Dunedin, and defined on Land Transfer Plan No. 583; thence along the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 134; thence westerly along the northern side of the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 134, 136, 138, 140, 142, 144, 146, 148, 150, 152, and 153; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern side of the road forming the south-western boundary of Section No. 154, across a road, and along the south-western boundary of Section No. 155; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 160, and 161; thence generally northerly along the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 49, 48, 47, 46, 45, 44, 43, and 42; thence along the southern side of the Main North Taieri Road to a point opposite the south-western corner of Section No. 41, Waikari Survey District; thence across the said road and along the eastern side of the road forming the western boundary of the last-mentioned section to the place of commencement.

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Clifton.

THE following special order, made by the Clifton County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.—Mangamaeho Road Loan, £80.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Clifton County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £80 (being 10 per cent. on the previous loan of £800), authorised to be raised by the Clifton County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments thereof, for the formation and bridging of the Mangamaeho Road, the said Clifton County Council hereby makes and levies a special annual-recurring rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprised within the Mangamaeho Road Special-rating Area—namely, Sections 5, 6, 7, 9, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, Block I, Upper Waitara Survey District; Section 12, Block II, Upper Waitara Survey District; Sections 3, 4, 5, Block V, Upper Waitara Survey District; Sections 2, 3, Block VI, Upper Waitara Survey District: and that the said special annual-recurring rate shall be payable in one sum on the 1st day of February in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-two years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and the interest shall be at the rate of 4½ per cent. per annum for the said period of thirty-two years.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Clifton County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorised to be raised by the Clifton County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the amendments thereof, for the purpose of metalling the Oapui Road from the Junction Road to Venables’s gate, a distance of about 100 chains, the said Clifton County Council hereby makes and levies a special annual-recurring rate of 2¹⁄₁₆d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprised within the Oapui Road Special-rating Area—namely, Sections 36, 38, 49, Block III, Huiroa Survey District, and Sections 1, 5, 7, 9, Block IV, Huiroa Survey District; and that the said special annual-recurring rate shall be payable in one sum on the 1st day of February in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and the interest shall be at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum for the said period of forty-one years.
