Authorising the Laying-off of a Street in Sections Nos. 607, 608, 609, and 610, City of Nelson, of a Width less than 66 ft., but not less than 40 ft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth
day of February, 1908.
Present :

W HEREAS by section two hundred and thirty-six of
“ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” it is,
inter alia, provided that where the configuration of any
borough is such as that within any particular area or areas
thereof it is difficult or inexpedient to construct streets of
the width of sixty-six feet as required by the said Act, the
Governor may, by Order in Council defining the limits of
such particular area or areas, authorise the Council to
permit within such area or areas the construction of streets
and private streets of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not
less than forty feet :

And whereas the configuration of the City of Nelson is
such that within the area described in the Schedule hereto
it is inexpedient to construct a street of sixty-six feet :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the
powers vested in him by “ The Municipal Corporations
Act, 1900,” and its amendments, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the said Dominion, doth hereby permit within the area de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto the laying-off of a street
within the said area of a width less than sixty-six feet, but
not less than fifty feet.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land in the Land District of Nelson,
situate in the City of Nelson, between Bronti Street and
Brougham Street, comprising Sections Nos. 607, 608, 609,
and 610, City of Nelson ; as the said land is more par-
ticularly delineated on the plan marked R. 9369a, deposited
in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington,
in the Wellington Land District, and thereon shown in green
colour.

Declaring the Pipiriki - Waiouru Road, in the Waimarino
County, to be a Government Road.

I N pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by “ The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excel-
lency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare
that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and
after the date of this Order in Council, be a Government
road.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that road in the Wellington Land District and Wai-
marino County, known as the Pipiriki - Waiouru Road,
commencing at its junction with the Taheke Road, in the
Township of Pipiriki, and proceeding in a north-easterly
direction generally through the said Township of Pipiriki,
Blocks X, XI, and XII, Rarete Survey District, Blocks IX,
V, and VI, Makotuku Survey District, to its junction with
Ameku Road ; then commencing again from the right bank
of the Makotuku Stream, in the said Block VI, proceeding
easterly generally through Block VII to the westernmost
corner of Section 6 ; thence through the said Section 6, and
abutting on Sections 5, 4, 3, and 2, all of Block VIII, Mako-
tuku Survey District ; thence past the Township of Oha-
kune ; thence south-easterly generally to the north-western

corner of Section 16, Block V, Karioi Survey District ;
thence through Blocks V, VI, and X, Karioi Survey
District, to the Township of Karioi ; thence proceeding
south-easterly and north-easterly to the south of Trig. O,
through Blocks XI and XII, Karioi Survey District ; thence
easterly and south-easterly, through Block IX, Moawhango
Survey District, to its junction with the Waiouru-Tokaanu
Main Road, in the Township of Waiouru : as the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 808,
and deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads,
at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured burnt sienna.

Declaring Portion of the Pukekaha Road, in the Waimarino
County, to be a County Road.

of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that
the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and
after the date of this Order in Council, be a county road.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of road in the Wellington Land District,
Waimarino County, known as the Pukekaha Road, com-
mencing at a point 30 chains, more or less, north of the
boundary between Sections 7 and 8, Block XIV, Manganui
Survey District, and proceeding generally in a northerly
direction, fronting Sections 8, 9, and 10, Block XIV afore-
said, and terminating at its junction with the Motete Road,
being a distance of 1 mile 26 chains, more or less ; as the
said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
R. 6424, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of
Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and
thereon coloured red.

on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a county
road.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of road in the Wellington Land District,
Waimarino County, known as the Mangarewa Road, com-
mencing at the boundary between Sections Nos. 20 and 21,
and proceeding in a north-easterly direction, fronting Sec-
tions Nos. 20 and 19, Block III, Makotuku Survey District,
and terminating at its junction with the Upper Cross Road,
being a distance of 54 chains or thereabouts ; as the said
road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
R. 5422, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of
Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and
thereon coloured red.
