NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands are open for selection on renewable lease, and applications will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 29th day of December, 1908, under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908,” and “The Land for Settlements Act, 1908.”

Altitude, from 480 ft. to 610 ft. above sea-level. Land flat and undulating, practically all ploughable mixed agricultural and pastoral land. Soil good, with a subsoil of clay on a papa formation. With the exception of a small patch of light bush, the land is clear and in English grasses. Watered by several streams. Access from Waipawa, about sixteen miles by good metalled road. The improvements which go with the section comprise 60 chains of fencing, valued at £30, and half-value of 120 chains of fencing along western and southern boundaries, valued at £30; total value, £60.

Undulating to hilly pastoral land, in native and English grasses. About 200 acres ploughable. Elevation, from 520 ft. to 760 ft. above sea-level. Manuka scrub in patches. Soil good, on clay-and-papa foundation. The section is connected with the metalled road from Waipawa by one mile and three-quarters of unformed road. Watered by several streams. The improvements which go with the section comprise half-value of 135 chains of fencing along western and southern boundaries, valued at £33 15s.

Situated on the southern face of the Tutamoe Range, at the head of the Waingaromia River, at an elevation ranging from 1,000 ft. to 3,000 ft. above sea-level. All hilly pastoral bush land. Fair to good soil, on papa formation.

Very broken red-birch country, with some gullies and hill-faces; mixed bush. Soil light, mixed with pumice, on sandstone rock. There is 1,000 acres of fairly good mixed bush fronting the Koranga Road. Elevation, from 1,000 ft. to 3,000 ft. above sea-level.
LOCALITY OF RUNS.
Run 93 is situated thirty-one miles and a half from Tolago Bay—twenty-five miles by the Tolago Bay—Tawharepare Road, and six miles and a half by the newly formed road, 8 ft. wide, and suitable for sledging, which gives access to the northern and higher end of the run.
Runs 89, 90, and 91 are situated about sixty miles from Gisborne, forty miles from Te Karaka Railway-station. Dray-road formed fifty-three miles from Gisborne, balance (seven miles) is now being formed 8 ft. wide, suitable for sledging, and will be completed early in January.
