The inclusion of the suburban boroughs tends to lower the rate at Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, but raises it at Dunedin.

The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 570, against 673 in October—a decrease of 93. The deaths in November were 182, a decrease of 34 on the number in October. Of the total deaths, males contributed 108, females 74. Thirty-six of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 19·78 per cent. of the whole number; 27 of these were under one year of age.

There were fifty-six deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards: Seven men, 67, 72, 75 (two), 76, 78 (two), and nine women, 66, 67, 76, 77, 78 (two), 79, 86, 87, died at Auckland; two men, 69, 82, and five women, 65, 72, 76, 79, 81, at Wellington; six men, 66, 76, 77, 78, 80, 82, and eight women, 65, 68, 73, 75 (two), 76, 78, 88, at Christchurch; and fourteen men, 66, 68 (two), 72, 73, 78, 79, 80, 82 (two), 83 (two), 90, 91, and five women, 76, 77, 80, 86, 90 at Dunedin.
