Constituting the Borough of Eastbrook, County of Wanganui.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a borough under the said Act on and from the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seven; that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Eastbrook; that the said borough shall be an undivided borough; and that the number of Councillors to be elected thereto shall be eight, exclusive of the Mayor.
And I do further proclaim and declare that Alfred Edward Barns, of Wanganui, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough; and that Clara Neilson, of Eastown, shall be the Town Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors roll for the purposes of the said first election.
And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough shall be held on Thursday, the nineteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seven; and that the first meeting of the Council of the said borough shall be held on Thursday, the ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and eight, at half past seven o’clock in the afternoon, at the office of the Mataongaonga Road Board, at Eastown.
SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF EASTBROOK.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District situated in Blocks I, II, V, and VI, Ikitara Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a line along the middle of the Kaimitira Road from the east bank of the Wanganui River to its junction with Gordon Park Road; thence by a line along the middle of Gordon Park Road to its junction with No. 3 Line Road; thence towards the north by a line along the middle of No. 3 Line Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Section No. 73, Block II; thence towards the east generally by a right line to the north-western corner of the said Section No. 73; thence by that section and by Sections Nos. 75, 74, and 53, Block VI, to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 52; thence towards the south generally by Sections Nos. 52, 51, 50, 49, 48, Block VI, and Sections Nos. 47, 46, and 45, Block V, to the Purua Stream; thence by the Purua Stream to the Wanganui River; and thence towards the west and north-west by the east bank of the Wanganui River to the place of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and seven.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Gisborne-Rotorua Railway to take further land in Block IV, Waikohu Survey District, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.
