Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road in the Eyreton Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Canterbury Great Northern Railway (Hurunui-Waitaki Railway), and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road:

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister for Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the Eyreton Road District, the local authority of which has assented to the issue of this Proclamation:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section one hundred and ninety-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Eyreton Road Board, and shall be maintained by the said Board in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Land District of Canterbury, containing 2 roods 39 perches, more or less, being a portion of Section 468, Block XV, Rangiora Survey District, and being bounded as follows: On the west by the western boundary of the Railway Reserve, a distance of 2450 links; on the east by a line parallel to and 17 ft. east of the said western boundary, a distance of 2380 links; on the south-west and north-east by other portions of the Railway Reserve, distances of 300 and 320 links respectively; again on the east and south by the Ferry Reserve No. 71; and on the north by a line drawn in continuation of the northern side of the road forming the southern boundary of Kaiapoi Station Yard Reserve: as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 15436, deposited in the office of the Minister for Railways, at Wellington, and thereon coloured purple.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seven.

Additional Land in the Rangiriri Survey District taken for the Purposes of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway to take further land in the Rangiriri Survey District, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

ERRATUM.—In a Proclamation dated the 16th July, 1907, reserving Crown land under “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903,” and “The Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1906,” and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 63, of the 18th July, 1907, on page 2135, for “Section 8, Block II, Kaitieke S.D.,” read “Section 10.”
