Rural Lands in Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth
section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf. as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare
that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twentieth
day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at
the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash. or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in
perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected
on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold. occupied, or leased. as
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Second-class Land.

Altitude, about 100 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land, covered with fern and tea-tree; part low-lying
swamp; soil inferior stiff clay; well watered. Situated about three miles and a half from Drury Railway-station—half
the distance by good metalled road, remainder good road in summer.

Altitude, from 200 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Level and undulating land, covered with tea-tree and scrub; soil a
mixed loam and clay, from inferior to fair quality, on clay subsoil; water scarce on Section 104, but Section 105 is fairly
well watered by a small stream. Situated about five miles from Waipu Post-office—four miles and a half by dray-road,
balance by bridle-track.

Altitude, from 250 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Level and undulating land, 3 acres in grass, balance covered with tea-
tree; soil a mixed loam and clay, on clay subsoil; quality from fair to inferior; well watered by small streams. Situated
about seven miles from Waipu—six miles by dray-road, one mile by bridle-track.

Altitude, from 30 ft. to 50 ft. above sea-level. About, 5 or 6 acres level land of good quality along northern boundary,
balance broken land covered with short tea-tree; clay soil of inferior quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by
running stream. Situated about two miles from Awitu Wharf by main formed road.

Pastoral Runs in Southland Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral runs will be offered for lease by public auction, at the
District Lands Office, Invercargill, at 11 o'clock a.m., on Thursday, the 28th day of February, 1907, under the
provisions of Part VI of "The Land Act, 1892."

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Pastoral Runs.—Class I.

LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION OF RUNS.

Runs 173A and 415A1 (grouped): This run contains 17,600 acres, having a frontage to the Waiau River of about five
miles, is situated in Takitimo District, Wallace County, and is distant some fifty miles by good wagon-road from Otautau
Railway-station. About half the area is level to undulating, attaining an altitude of 600 ft. to 2,500 ft. above sea-level, and is
well covered with white tussock and other grasses; the other half or balance is high, rugged mountain country, attaining
an altitude of 5,500 ft. above sea-level, purely summer country, subject to running shingle, and is poorly grassed with snow
tussock and other mountain vegetation.

Runs 328, 436A, 424, 436, and Block V, Wakaia (grouped): This run contains 95,784 acres, situated in Wakaia
Gap, Whitecoomb, and Obelisk Survey Districts, Southland and Vincent Counties, and is accessible by good wagon-road,
