Alterations to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.
IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under “The Government Railways Act, 1900,” I, Joseph George Ward, Minister for Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of fares, rates, and charges in force on the New Zealand Government railways open for traffic, such alterations to come into force on and after the 29th day of July, 1907:—
PART III.—GOODS: REGULATIONS.
DEPASTURING STARVING STOCK.
- Starving stock sent from stations on the Lawrence, Otago Central, and North Otago Railways to Southland for depasturing will, on the return journey, be conveyed free of charge from the original destination station to the original forwarding station, provided,—
(a.) That the consignment note for the outward journey is indorsed with the following certificate:—
“I hereby certify that the stock entered hereon are being sent for depasturing purposes.”
(b.) On the return journey a statutory declaration must be made in the following form:—
“I hereby certify that the stock entered on the consignment note attached hereto were consigned from __ to __ for depasturing on __, 1907, and are now being returned. I also certify that no portion of the stock has been sold or exchanged.”
FREE CARRIAGE OF FODDER FOR STARVING STOCK.
Hay, straw, chaff, grain, green fodder, and ensilage purchased and to be used for the sake of keeping alive stock starving by reason of the recent drought will be carried free to the stations on Lawrence, Otago Central, and North Otago Railways affected by the recent drought, on production by the consignor of a statutory declaration in the following form:—
“I hereby certify that the (a) __ consigned by me from (b) __ to (c) __, has been purchased and is to be used for the sole purpose of keeping alive stock starving by reason of the recent drought.”
(a) Insert here particulars of fodder. (b) Station from. (c) Name of consignee and station to.
For the purposes of these regulations North Otago will be regarded as including the district Waikouaiti to Morven inclusive.
This regulation will expire on the 30th September, 1907.

Notice of the Taking and Laying-off of Roads through Horowhenua Block, Blocks I and V, Waiopehu; II, Waitohu; and IV, Moutere Survey Districts, Horowhenua County.
NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under the authority of section 93 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1886,” that the roads described in the Schedule hereto were, on the 10th April, 1889, duly taken and laid off through the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by Warrant dated the 23rd February, 1889.
