purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan
of £600, authorised to be raised by the Waipa County
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of
draining, claying, and metalling the Hamilton-Tuhikaramea
Swamp Road, the said Waipa County Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of ⅞d. in the pound upon the rate-
able value of all rateable property of the Koromatua Special-
rating District, comprising all that part of the Waipa
County bounded commencing at the southern corner of
Allotment 18 of the Parish of Tuhikaramea, by Allot-
ments 18, 19, 20, 20A, and 21 of the said parish, and a line
across a road to the south-eastern corner of the said Allot-
ment 21; thence by Allotments 21 and 13 of the said parish
and a line across a road to the north-eastern corner of the
said Allotment 13; thence by Allotments 7, 8, and 9A of the
said parish and a line across a road to the north-western
corner of Allotment 31 of the said parish; thence by the
western, south-eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of the
said Allotment 31 to the north-eastern corner of such allot-
ment; thence by a line across a road and Allotments 32,
33, and 37 of the said parish to the north-eastern corner of
the said Allotment 37; thence by a line across a road, the
northern boundary of Allotment 375 of the said parish, a
line across a road, and the northern boundary of Allot-
ment 75 of the said parish to the north-eastern corner
of the said Allotment 75; thence by Allotment 77 of
the said parish to the south-western corner of the
said Allotment 77; thence by Allotments 77, 78, and 81
of the said parish to the south-eastern corner of Allotment
81 of the said parish; thence by a line across a road and
Allotments 84, 85, and 86 to the south-western corner of the
said Allotment 86; thence by the southern boundary of the
said Allotment 86 to its south-eastern corner; thence by
Allotments 86, 85, 84, 83, and 82 to the north-western corner
of Allotment 90 of the said parish; thence by the northern
boundary of Allotments 90, 91, and 371 of the said parish and
a line across a road to the north-eastern corner of the said
Allotment 371; thence by a straight line being a continuation
of the northern boundary of the said Allotment 371 to the
Hamilton-Ohaupo Railway; thence by the said railway to a
public road intersecting the said Allotment 371; thence by
the said road to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 99 of
the said parish; thence by the eastern boundaries of the
blocks of land known as Sections G, H, and L of the Rukuhia
Estate to the north-eastern corner of Allotment 314 of the
said parish; thence by the northern and western boundaries
of the said Allotment 314, and the western boundaries of
Allotments 313, 312, and 311, and a line across a road to the
south-eastern corner of Allotment 347; thence by the
northern boundaries of Allotments 270, 269, 268, 267, 264,
263, 252, 302, and 246, and part of Allotment 301, and lines
across three roads to the Waipa River; thence by the Waipa
River to the commencing-point: and that such special rate
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable in one sum on the 1st day of August in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid
off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed
as a special order at a special meeting of the Waipa County
Council on the 13th day of November, 1906, and was duly
confirmed at a meeting of the said Council on the 18th day
of December, 1906.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the
City of Nelson, is published in accordance
with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

NELSON CITY COUNCIL.

In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and
the amendments thereof.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the City of Nelson, taken on the 10th day of
January, 1907, upon the proposal set out below, the result of
such poll was as follows: For the proposal, 187 votes;
against the proposal, 172 votes.

And I therefore declare the said proposal to be duly
carried.

The said proposal was as follows:—

  1. The particular undertaking proposed to be engaged in
    is the reinstatement of Collingwood and Normanby Bridges,

  2. The sum proposed to be borrowed for the purpose is
    £2,500, repayable at the end of thirty years.

  3. The security proposed for such special loan is a special
    rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the annual value of all rate-
    able property within the said city. It is proposed to provide
    a sinking fund of 1½ per cent. for the repayment of the said
    loan.

  4. It is proposed that the cost of and incidental to raising
    the loan shall be paid out of the moneys borrowed.

Dated this 11th day of January, 1907.

I, Jesse Piper, Mayor of the City of Nelson, do solemnly
and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by law
to be taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the muni-
cipal electors of the City of Nelson (other than those enrolled
upon a residential qualification) to the proposal of the
Nelson City Council to raise a special loan of £2,500 for the
reinstatement of Collingwood and Normanby Bridges have
been duly taken, and that the proposal for such loan has
been duly carried.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously be-
lieving the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions
of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled
“The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

BOROUGH OF DEVONPORT.

HEREWITH I beg to submit to you, for publication in the
Gazette, the result of poll taken on 19th December, 1906, on
the proposal to raise a special loan of £7,000, under “The
Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the following under-
takings and works:—

(1.) £5,700 to provide larger and additional water-mains
within the borough.

(2.) £1,300 to complete drainage at Cheltenham and
Vauxhall.

  1. Waterworks.

Votes for the proposal .. .. .. 115
Votes against the proposal .. .. .. 84

  1. Drainage, Cheltenham and Vauxhall.

Votes for the proposal .. .. .. 107
Votes against the proposal .. .. .. 86
Informal votes .. .. .. 6

As the total number of votes recorded in favour of both
the proposals exceed those against them, I declare such
proposals to be duly carried.

HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at the poll taken on the
9th day of January, 1907, upon the proposal of the Council
of the Borough of Hamilton to raise a special loan of £2,500
for the erection of a horse bazaar on Section 476, and ex-
tensions to saleyards on Section 453A, Hamilton West, the
following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 31 votes;
against the proposal, 19 votes.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
