† Owing to the prevalence of drought in Canterbury and Otago a quantity of the crop intended for threshing was either fed off or not worth cutting, therefore the areas for threshing have been reduced as follows: Canterbury—Wheat, by 2,000 acres; oats, by 6,000 acres. Otago—Wheat, by 3,000 acres; oats, by 15,000 acres.

The Counties of Waiapu and Cook are included in the Hawke’s Bay District. The Counties of Amuri and Cheviot are included in the Canterbury District.
