Renewing Postal Regulations and Rates of Postage.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of June, 1907.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by Orders in Council dated respectively the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and five, the thirtieth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and five, the twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and five, the second day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six, and the second day of November, one thousand nine hundred and six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the third day of July, one thousand nine hundred and five, the fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and five, the seventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and five, the fourth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six, and the eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and six respectively, regulations were made and rates of postage fixed under the authority of “The Post Office Act, 1900” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), for the transmission of letters, books, packets, and newspapers through the post for places within or beyond New Zealand; and it is expedient to revoke the aforesaid Orders in Council, and in lieu thereof to make the regulations and fix the rates of postage hereinafter mentioned :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the aforesaid Orders in Council, and the regulations and rates of postage thereby prescribed respectively, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the regulations and fix the rates of postage specified in the Schedule hereto; and doth further order that this Order in Council shall take effect on and after the date of its first publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
