NOTE.—Early part of month pleasant and sunny, afterwards dull and showery. Total bright sunshine, 153 hours 35 minutes; but none recorded on 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th, when great humidity prevailed. Average sunshine, 5 hours 7 minutes per day. Earth temperatures: 1 ft., mean, 61·8° F.; max., 64°; min., 59°: 3 ft., mean, 61·2°; max., 64°; min., 61°. Mean humidity, 76 per cent. Mean dew point, 50·5° F. Mean elastic force of vapour, ·367 in.
