Wellington, 8th January, 1907.
IT is hereby notified for public information that the Hon. the Minister of Customs has decided to interpret the Customs and Excise Duties Acts in relation to the under-mentioned articles as follows:—
NOTE.—“Not otherwise enumerated” appears as n.o.e.; “other kinds” as o.k.; “articles and materials suited only for, and to be used solely in, the fabrication of goods in the colony” as a. & m.s. Articles marked thus * are revised decisions.

Notice of Proposed Cancellation of Registry.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Wellington Timber-merchants and Sawmillers Industrial Union of Employers, registered No. 328, situated at Wellington, the registration of that industrial union will be cancelled at the expiration of six weeks from the date hereof unless within the six weeks specified proceedings be commenced by a member or other person interested in or having some claim on the funds of the industrial union to set aside such cancellation, and the same is set aside accordingly.

JERMAIN STEADMAN, Esq., of 4, Suffolk Street, London, S.W., a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England, has this day been appointed by His Honour the Chief Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in England, under the 2nd section of “The Commissioners of the Supreme Court Act, 1875,” for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” and Section 53 of “The Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1906.”
To the owner or owners of a parcel of land containing 20 acres, more or less, being Section No. 1777, Block X, Kanieri Survey District, in the Provincial District of Westland. The grantees were the Kanieri Lake Water-race Company (Limited), but which company has been defunct for over twenty years.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes the said company to be defunct:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder written, and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the colony, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me, as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the said Act; the value of the land for the purposes of section 5 of the said Act being less than £100.
