All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 995 acres, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block XII, Waro Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by Section No. 1, Block IX, Waro Survey District, 5871·6 links, and Ohura Road, 2841·7 links; towards the east generally by Section No. 1, Block XIII, Ohura Survey District, and Section No. 11, Block IX, Waro Survey District, 13933·2 links; towards the south-west generally by Section No. 1, Block XVI, Waro Survey District, 9563·1 links; and towards the west generally by Crown lands, 16350·6 links: excepting therefrom the railway reserve traversing the said Section No. 1, Block XII, Waro Survey District: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56112HH, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For forest and scenery purposes.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 38 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 1, Suburban Section, Aria Village, Block X, Totoro Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Crown land, 497 links; towards the east generally by Sections Nos. 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10, Aria Suburban, 2683 links; towards the south by Section No. 3, Block X, Totoro Survey District, 1979·5 links; and again on the south-east by other part of said Section No. 10, Aria Suburban, 200 links, and Kiekie Road, 513·3 links; and towards the west generally by the Kumara Road, 3388·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56112II, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a public recreation-ground.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 13, Aria Suburban, Village of Aria, Block X, Totoro Survey District. Bounded towards the north by part Rimu Street and Crown land, 625 links; towards the east by Crown land, 800 links; towards the south by Section No. 3, 625 links; and towards the west by Kiekie Street, 800 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56112JJ, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a site for a public school.

Rural Land in Southland Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.


PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seven; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metals, minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Rural Land in Nelson Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-six of “The Land Act, 1892,” and section two of “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, that is to say:—

  1. The rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for disposal by way of selection on and after the tenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seven, at the rental specified in the said Schedule.

  2. The said land may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, as provided by section one hundred and twenty-one of “The Land Act, 1892,” as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone, and shall not be purchased for cash.

  3. For the purposes of “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903,” the land enumerated in the said Schedule hereto shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land.”

  4. No general rate shall be levied or collected by any local authority from the said land for the period of four years from the date from which such land is disposed of, and no local authority shall have power to levy or collect any such rate from such land during such period.

  5. After the first half-year’s rent has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent payable by him for a period of four years shall not be demanded: provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.

Situated about six miles from Longford Post-office and Telegraph-station, two and three-quarter miles of which distance is along the main coach-road, and the remainder along a 6 ft. bridle-road formed for three miles and a quarter. The land is portion of the Matiri Valley Block, all of which has been selected. Being of limestone formation it will grow grass well; well watered, forest-clad, the timber being principally brown- and red-pine, with some stunted kahikatea (white-pine) here and there. About 35 acres flat and undulating along the road boundary. Suitable for homestead-site.

The above area is shown on the plan marked L. and S. 53390.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seven.
