Parcels containing plants must be accompanied by a statement, made by the sender, that he undertakes to bear the cost of examination by an expert, and authorises the addressee or some one else resident in Germany to pay the fee on his behalf. Plants must be packed firmly in cases, baskets, or closed parcels, but so as to allow a close verification of the plants and the packing, coin or bullion exceeding £5 in value Malt and malted foods for Bavaria must be accompanied by a “Polette,” i.e., a permit issued by the Customs authorities in Bavaria, which must be obtained by the sender beforehand Germany.
