SCHEDULE.

MONEY-ORDERS.

  1. Except as mentioned in the next paragraph, Money-orders are issued at the offices described as Money-order Offices in the general list at pages 56 to 98 of the Post and Telegraph Guide, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., except on Saturday, when the offices are not closed before 5 p.m.

  2. The Money-order Offices at Auckland, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Gisborne, Greymouth, Hokitika, Invercargill, Napier, Nelson, New Plymouth, Newton, Oamaru, Thames, Timaru, Wanganui, Wellington, and Westport close at 1 p.m. on Saturday, except when the Money-order portion of English mails is advertised to close later than 1 p.m., when the offices named will remain open until 2 p.m., if necessary. The Ashburton, Hastings, Te Aro, and Wellington South Offices close at 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

  3. Money-order Offices are also Postal-note Offices and, with few exceptions, Post-Office Savings-Banks.

  4. Telegraph Money-orders are only transmitted from or to Money-order Offices which are also Telegraph or Telephone Offices.

Commission Chargeable on Money-orders.

Commission chargeable on Money-orders issued for payment within New Zealand:—

By Post.

  1. For each £5 or fraction of £5, 3d. The maximum amount for which a single order may be issued for payment in New Zealand is £40.

By Telegraph.

  1. At the following rates:—

with a telegraph fee of 1s. for each order.

  1. Money-order Telegrams can be sent as urgent upon payment of 1s. on each Order in addition to the ordinary rates. Such telegrams will rate as Urgent Ordinary Telegrams and be sent in the order of their receipt with other telegrams of the like code.

  2. The remitter of a Money-order Telegram may have a private communication for the payee added to the official telegram of advice on paying for the additional words at the following rates: Ordinary, ½d. per word; urgent, 1d. per word, with no minimum charge.
