Alteration of the Kahutara River District, County of Featherston.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The River Boards Act, 1884,” it is, among other things, enacted that the Governor may, on petition signed by not less than two-thirds in number of the ratepayers of a river district, enlarge, alter, or diminish any such district:
And whereas a petition, signed as aforesaid, has been duly presented, praying that the Kahutara River District, established under the said Act, may be diminished, and that the boundaries thereof may be those set forth in the Schedule hereto:
And whereas it is expedient to grant the prayer of the said petition:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto, and that this Proclamation shall come into force on the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and eight.
SCHEDULE.
KAHUTARA RIVER DISTRICT.
Amended Boundaries.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of Section No. 32, Block XI, Wairarapa Survey District; thence south-easterly along the Mangatete Stream and the eastern boundary of Section No. 2, Block XI aforesaid, to the Kahutara Road; thence across that road and along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 3 and 4, Block XV, to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section No. 4 and the Whakawerawera Stream to Burt’s Road; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern side of Burt’s Road to its junction with Kahutara Road; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of the last-mentioned road to the southernmost corner of Section No. 7, Block XV aforesaid; thence generally northerly along the western boundary of the last-mentioned section and the Opoura Stream to the southernmost corner of Section No. 9, Block XIV, Wairarapa Survey District; thence along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of the last-mentioned section; thence along the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Section No. 35, Block XIV, and Section No. 34, Block X, to Section No. 33, Block XI, Wairarapa Survey District; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the Makakahi Stream; thence along the Makakahi Stream to the north-western boundary of the said Section No. 33; thence along the north-western boundary of that section and the north-western boundary of Section No. 32, Block XI aforesaid, to the place of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seven.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” and its amendments, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the owner and of the mortgagees of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and of the Wallace County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Longwood Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.
